Toy Library Opens September 30, 2007

The Vancouver Supported Child Development Program Toy Library grand opening is Thursday, September 20th 3:00-8:00 pm. According to the August 2007 newsletter, the Toy Library has "over 750 books and toys that have been hand-picked by ... consultants." Categories include:

• fine motor
• large motor
• language
• sensory
• social-emotional
• cultural
• cognitive
• cause-and-effect
• specialized
• parent/teacher resources

Part of the BC Centre for Ability, "The Supported Child Development (SCD) Program assists families requiring child care, preschool, or out-of-school care for their children aged 0 - 19 years of age. These children may have a developmental delay, disorder, or extra support needs and would benefit from additional program support." Read more at the BC Centre for Ability website.
